Have I mentioned that my hair is a nightmare in the summer?
(correct answer: yes. and in case I haven’t mentioned it, YES. it is a nightmare.)
When the humidity rises, so does my hair. It’s like a Chia pet in that respect- just add water and it grows. From the end of May until the end of September, I basically retire my straightener and curling iron. It’s air drying and the occasional wand-shaping while the temperature is hot, and even then, there’s no guaranteeing that it behaves. I end up with a little fuzzy halo, and my hair ultimately ends up in a defeated-looking bun.
Nothing (so far) has worked to tame it without completely weighing it down, but I’m always up to try something new. I’d talk to a witch doctor if I thought it would give me healthy, smooth hair. Which is why when Vanity Planet contacted me about reviewing a hair mask and scalp massager, I jumped for joy.
I haven’t been able to use it for long, but here’s what I know is certain: my hair smells amazing and being able to massage your own scalp is one of life’s underrated pleasures. My favorite part of getting my hair done is that I know Brooke the Hair Queen will dig into my scalp for a few minutes (I have the same feelings regarding pedicures and calf massages). No matter how hard you try, though, you aren’t ever able to replicate that feeling on your own, the scalp tingle that makes your eyes roll.
Well, this, little kittens? This is as close as I’ve gotten. And for $25, it’s an affordable addition to your beauty cabinet. And you can use it on all hair types, even if you’re way cooler than the normal gal and rock dreads. Plus, you can simply use it on your head the way you’d use their spinning facial brush on your skin — just load up on the shampoo and get to work!
