When you’re trying to watch your waistline, the hardest part (for me, anyway) is the extra calories I get from drinks. The cocktail recipe I’m sharing with y’all is a Sonic lover’s dream. Any Sonic fangirls out there love cherry limeades? Cherry + lime + carbonation = perfection, especially on hot summer afternoons. The problem? Sugar and chemicals and calories, oh my.
I replaced all that bad mumbo-jumbo with Sparkling Ice Cherry Limeade. The Sparkling Ice Cherry Limeade is a carbonated, sparkly water, so we’re already doing better health-wise than we would with soda. Plus, it has zero calories and zero sugar, and zero points for you Weight Watchers folks. Cherry, lime, bubbly water … oh, and I added booze, so it’s basically Heaven’s Nectar.
Fizzy Cherry Limeade Cocktail
4 oz. Cherry Limeade Sparkling Ice
4 oz. club soda
1 shot vodka
2 lime wedges
Combine all liquid ingredients in a shaker with ice (my preference is for the tiny, choppy ice!). Shake around and pour into a glass. Squeeze limes into your drink, and plop your cherry right in. Eat the cherry when your drink is finished for an extra pop of drink!
This cocktail is basically the Fizzy Lifting Drink from Willy Wonka. It’ll take you to the moon.
